Overview
Upwind Cloud Scanners provide organizations with deep cloud security insights, even in environments where deploying sensors is challenging or impractical. These environments include:
- Serverless Containers: AWS Fargate, Google Cloud Run, Azure Container Instances.
- Functions: AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, Azure Functions.
- Virtual Machines: Legacy OS versions.
Our scanners function as Auto Scaling groups that systematically scan virtual machines (VMs) within their deployment region. They snapshot every disk in a VM to identify misconfigurations, malware, exposed secrets, and vulnerabilities. By default, scans are conducted every 24 hours, but this frequency can be customized to meet your organization's specific needs.

Upwind Cloud Scanners can be monitored through the Inventory page of the Upwind Management Console. This page allows you to:
- View all deployed scanners across different accounts and regions.
- Drill down into each scanner to review scan history.
- Visualize and configure scan-eligible VMs.
- Analyze metrics related to CPU and memory consumption of the scanners.
