Managed Instances
Overview
If your cluster uses ECS managed instances capacity providers, the module can deploy the sensor and scanner as ECS managed daemons. It creates them through CloudFormation. Set managed_instances_capacity_provider_names to the names of the capacity providers attached to the cluster.
| Variable | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
managed_instances_capacity_provider_names | list(string) | [] | Names of the managed instances capacity providers attached to the cluster. |
The module builds the capacity provider ARNs from the current AWS region and account. Pass the names, not the ARNs.
module "upwind_ecs_runtime" {
source = "https://get.upwind.io/terraform/modules/aws-ecs-runtime/aws-ecs-runtime-1.5.1.tar.gz"
ecs_cluster_name = "my-ecs-cluster"
vpc_id = "vpc-0123456789abcdef0"
subnets = ["subnet-0123456789abcdef0", "subnet-0fedcba9876543210"]
credentials = {
client_id = var.upwind_client_id
client_secret = var.upwind_client_secret
}
managed_instances_capacity_provider_names = ["my-managed-instances-provider"]
}
Behavior
- A managed daemon is created for the sensor when
sensor.enabledistrue, and for the scanner whenscanner.enabledistrue. Both aretrueby default. See Sensor and scanner. - If the list is empty, the module creates no managed daemons, whatever the
enabledsettings are.
